The plot of Battle Garegga is a classic tale of engineers forced to confront the destructive consequences of their own genius. The Collector's Edition features the same storyline as the original game:

The game takes place in a dieselpunk world in an era after the Industrial Revolution. The protagonists are two brothers, Brian and Jason Wayne, who are mechanical geniuses running a small automobile factory inherited from their father. Their skills became renowned, leading the powerful Federation to offer them a highly profitable contract to develop advanced military vehicles.

Blinded by the thrill of engineering and competition, the brothers naively accepted the contract and created powerful, unparalleled weapons for the Federation's imperialistic ambitions.
